Forum Front Page:

The front page of the forums are very easy to navigate and include lots of features and shortcuts to find what you are looking for whether it is an app or a question.

On the top of the screen you will find a orange taskbar. We will go from left to right across that explaining the features.

On the far left you have the SPJ Store.
the SPJ store specializes in cell phone accessories as well as accessories for MP3 players, digital cameras, video games, GPS devices, computers, laptops and more. We also offer Cables and Computer extras such as our new line of Road Mice. All at exceptional prices with exceptional service.

To the right of the SPJ Store you will find a tab that says HOME. if you click on that you will be brought to the main page which will be discussed in full further below.

to the right of the HOME tab and on the other side of the logo you will find the ARTICLE tab. Inside the article tab you will find Reviews, Articles on new phones and accessories, as well as tutorials on how to do various mods and tweaks to your device.

To the right of the ARTICLE tab you will find the REVIEW tab. under the review tab we have where members can see the latest and greatest software that has been released and what it does as well as the newest devices that are being released by the service providers.

To the right of the REVIEW tab you will find the FREEWARE tab. Inside the freeware tab you will find all the latest freeware for your WM device. This is freeware so please if you are going to contribute make sure it is freeware and not shareware. Also, if sharing please make sure to link to the original developers page and give credit where credit is due.

To the right of the FREEWARE tab you will find the VIP tab.
(vip section is designed for our contributing and respected members that has contributed to spj, in one way or another you must have more then 80 posts on the board.You must post something that is relevant to PPC's or Smartphones.There will no short talk posting, If we see that the post contains spam or something with no meaning or is in the wrong section, We will delete it without notice and your post count will not increase.We do monitor the board daily...) You can also can access to this area by signing up for the bi-monthy membership, monthly membership, or the day pass.

To the right of the VIP tab you will find the Skins Tab. Inside here you will find many freeware skins for all different user interfaces included and not limited to Touchflo 3D, Touchfo 3D2, Tocuhflo 2D, Mobile Shell 2, Mobile Shell 3, Wisbar Advance Desktop and Wisbar advance, Android, Blackberry, etc.

Next to the SKINS tab you will find the ROMS tab. Being mainly a CDMA site we carry CDMA roms. (GSM roms can be found at xda-developers) We have roms ranging from the Apache roms, Mogul roms, Vogue roms, Diamond roms, Touch Pro roms, and soon to be all the newer CDMA devices so keep an eye out :smile:

To the right of that tab you will find the CONTACT tab. when enabled it will let you contact the administrator of the boards on anything relating to material on the board that shouldn't be there, promotions, advertisement opportunities, etc.

Below the top taskbar that we are now complete with you will find another taskbar below where it says Welcome ________. we will go from left to right once again across this one.

The usercp is where you will be able to change many things including your profile information, signature, avatar, phone model, operating system build, etc.

To the right of the the usercp is MOBILE MODS. underneath mobile mods you will see mobile mods and skin mods. these will show you the mods under each category and the details like the amount of people that have marked as installed, the nominations for mod of the month, etc.
(correction on the mobile mod.The link was removed.You can view the mobile mod by going to the bottom of the page "Modifications Statistic" and click on "Mobile Mod Or Mobile Skin" it will take you to a list. see attached)

To the right of mobile mods you will find information support. underneath this drop-down you will find up top support which is the help desk broken down into parts that you can ask all you questions. please make sure that you post in the correct area. Also under there you will find join a group which is what you will have to join to be able to sell in the bargain trader since you have to be approved first and have VIP status to sell anything so no one gets scammed. You will also find another shortcut to the tutorials area since many still seem to miss it somehow as well as FAQ, trader information from are buy, sell, trade, area, member awards to nominate someone, the meet the staff page, as well as the forum rules, and how to post rules and tutorial. ** Tab Removed ** added to resource tab to reduce clutter

To the right of that you will find the resource tab which is self explanatory and contains many subdivisions already discussed, just another handy shortcut made to save you time :smile:

Next to that is the itrader tab. This tab is meant to help you aroudn the itrader area in finding what you need, changing your profile, and seeing a persons seller and buyer ratings (like ebay)

next to the itrader is the blog tab. this is where you can either view other members blogs or start your own blog right from SPJ!! thats right we have made SPJ your one stop shop for all your online and Smartphone needs.

next to the blog tab you will see the community tab, underneath here you will find the options to see the members list, (all members that have signed up) different social groups that you can join or make and discuss that topic in, all your contacts and friends, as well as the Youtube video directory.

Next to that you will find one of the most important and useful tools on the forum which is the search feature. The search feature can be used in many different ways, just like google you will want to use keyword when searching for a topic. Per instance you are looking for a file explorer, you will type in file explorer which will bring up all the threads that have that in the title so you can choose from all the listed ones. you than can go into advanced search where you can choose for it to search the whole thread and not the title, search by username, and even by forum or subforums!! Please use this tool, not only does it save you time and get you want you want faster but it saves us the hassle of having to not only explain the search feature but also get you in the right direction thus why the wait since you have to wait for a reply.

Next to that you will see the quick links tab. there you will find more quick self explanatory shortcuts for you to use in helping yourself navigate the site

Next to that is log out. this logs you off the computer and clears the cookies that were on the site. if you experience problems on the site with stuff not working as it should you should always try to log out and clear the cookies first before reporting it in the site errors thread under the SPJ news tab just below the chat box.

The chat box is to be used only for random talk, there is to be no support in there period or that user that asks will be banned from the chat box being able to not use it anymore.

now to the main categories:

Further down the boards on the same main page you will find the forum and subforums with the brother-forums inside of them. basically the main title gives you the hint on whats inside that area and it goes into further details and splits into groups for further clarity and neatness.

Main Category:
Here is a great starting point for all new members and should be looked at by current members also, it consists of the welcome center which not only contains this walk through but also many more useful hints on all types of things that many find useful.You will also find a discussion area with sub-topics as well as an area for the unregistered users that didn't receive email confirmation or cant get their account verified so we have a way to discuss the options and get them going.

Underneath that you will find the mobile device support center which is our help desk area that we discussed above. if you dont remember what the help desk consists of please look above in this tour and you will find your answer.

Below that you will find the general discussion area. inside there you will find news, free talk, sports talk, and just random talk. also under that area inside the members lounge you will find forum games, the show your pic area, show your whip, peoples youtube, twitter, facebook, myspace, etc threads as well.

Below that you will find the auction house (unless your staff than the staff area and you guys dont need to read this) the auction house is where you can sell your goods as described above. you must be a VIP member to have access to this or you wont be approved when you apply for access. inside here also you will also find a spot that you can post all your ebay items that you have for sale up to gain more views and hopefully bids.

Under that is that off topic forum, in here you will find ipod, pc, graphics help, game help, and just entertainment help. please make sure you choose the correct area before posting here since many dont and we like to keep the boards clean.

Below that is our Latin American section where our multilingual members will help those that dont speak english. Not many sites do this but we felt it is a must have.

Than finally you got the test forums, if you want to test a new signature or avatar per instance and need to post to see it just make a post here, this will not count toward your post count but hey at least you know yougot it right and didnt do it in a thread and make that thread go off topic.

finally at the very bottom you will find stats, these are fun to look at as well as give you some insight. You can also change your theme for the site using this :)

Last but not least is the newest feature that SPJ got approved to test as beta (thanks to pb and the developer) is the tools tab across the bottom which is self explanatory when looking at.... To open and close all you have to do is hit the upwards or downwards facing arrows to open or collapse the toolbar.
