Another MetroPCS and Touch PRO issue Thread

Howdy, I have a touch pro. so far i have been able to get the internet working however it only appears to work for some of the apps for example i can update the weather and i can use explorer to browse but i dont wish to use explorer. when i goto opera 9.5 and or skyfire none of them will connect. i can not find a way to force it to use the connection i have set up for internet. i was wondering if this is a common issue or if there is a work around. right now i have the energyrom running and well as spb shell i have also installed the teleus 1.04 radio and i have updated the gps settings as well on the phone. also i am still having issues with MMS messaging. i can send but for some reason i cant receive. i have followed all the guides i have all the settings correct for arcsoft. i am completly at a loss here. i have used the following to try and get mms to work after using the manual walk through set up. i have installed the htc guardian remover. ive also installed the picmail and arcsoft remover then ive installed the sprint jd arcsoft cab as well as a cab that auto confingures mms and wap for metro from metromafia. however when someone sends me an mms message i get a popup that says can not receive or deliever message. any advice or suggestions would be welcomed and thank you in advance.

this is not the place to be posting that.... please make your own thread if one isnt created for your tpoic already... and check out custom roms over at xda-develppers and than come back to us for your apps and games needs. \

and for the user in this thread that is having troubles you used these settings correct? (remember min you have to get from customer service when doing the mms part you dont insert min)

I did not do this on my own. I did a ton of reading and basically pulled the information from all of the other post.

I wanted to make one just for the Sprint Diamonds.

I have a HTC Diamond on Metro with the $45.00 plan. It is unlocked has the 2001 PRL and I placed Juicy's Rom Version 3.8 on it.

Do not skip any steps!!!!!

This works...


WAP

1: Goto settings -> Connections -> Connections
2: Remove any connections that are there
3: Open your phone and enter ##778#, select "EDIT" and enter your unlock code.

4: Set the following values:

M.IP Settings:
MIP_MODE = Simple IP Only

M.IP Default Profile:
NAI = yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
Home Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Primary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Secondary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)

Security:
HDR AN AUTH User Id = yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
PPP USER ID = yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
PPP PASSWORD = metropcs

5: Goto Connections and delete any existing connections and setup a new one using the following settings:

Number to dail = #777
Username: yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
Password: metropcs
Domain: (Leave Blank)

Select Proxy Settings and enter the following values:
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (http)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:443 (secure wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (socks)

6: Back in the "Connections" screen where you have two tabs at the bottom of the screen of "Tasks" and "Advanced", go to Advanced, click on "Select Networks" and select the name of the connection you just setup.

Example if you leave as Sprint then choose that one as your internet connection and do it for both settings.

MMS

MAKE SURE YOUR WEB IS WORKING PROPERLY (ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS) AS YOU CAN'T HAVE MMS WITHOUT WORKING INTERNET!!!!!

Remove/Uninstall any existing MMS composer you have attempted to setup. Also a good idea to remove any registry keys it may have created that are left behind after the uninstall.

1: Install Arcsoft MMS version 5.0.70.24 from Verzion.

2: Open your Messaging and click on the SMS/MMS option.

3: Click on "Menu" and select "MMS Options" then select the "Servers" tab.

4: Add a new server with the following settings:

Server Name: metropcs
Gateway: wap.metropcs.net
Port number: 3128
Server address: http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc
Connect via: SELECT EITHER THE CONNECTION YOU SETUP ABOVE OR "The internet"
Send limit: 399K

5: Click "Done" and then set the new server as default.

6: Using a Registry Editor edit the following values:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]

DELETE KEY -> "X-VzW-MDN"
ADD STRING -> "X-metropcs-MDN"="XXXXXXXXXX" ( Insert your 10 digit phone Number )
ADD STRING -> "X-DEVICE-MIN"="1XXXXXXXXXX" ( Insert your 10 digit phone Number WITH the 1 in front of it )

Yes that is correct. all of that is set up and configured. but i still am unable to receive mms or get out side apps like skyfire to connect

i jsut did one without any troubles.... if your data is working your data is working.... i would check out by going to start/settings/connections/connections/advanced/ and than make sure that the botytom dropdown matches with the top one... also under mms be sure to make that one your default server to pull from otherwise yoiu are going to face some troubles.

i ended up backing up my contacts and reflashing the rom and starting from scratch. i did manage to get the mms to work both ways. however even when i open the attachments it doesnt give me the option to save them so i just forwartd to my email then download them via the internet explore. its a PIA but works that way. im still having issues getting skyfire and opera to connect to the internet. also every so often the data toggle under the com manager turns off. that causes issues as well. is there a work around to force it to stay on all the time ?

could be the rom that you are using causing the issues.... maby try to flash to a different rom and see what that does for you... and did you check the multi drop downs and make sure that the 2nd one wasnt set to work network but the same as the first (area listed in MY post before this one. )

yes i have. ive tried sevreal roms all of them seem to have the same affect. i was doing some digging around and i beleive thet skyfire will not work via a proxy and since metro needs the proxy im boned. i do not know if this is the same issue with opera or not. some have suggested trying opera 5. which i might do. or i might take a stab at the opern 10.5 and see if those works. as of now. i have fully working mms and i can use internext explorer to browse with. for now this is good enough.

mmm odd i used the 9.5 release and it worked fine but that was on a vogue with the nfsfan fix and optimization for opera so that could be why... nad good call on the proxy forgot about that.
